Baguazhou (Eight Diagrams Mansion) is a landmark building on Gulangyu Island, with a history of over a century. "With every step, the old floorboards creaked, and the roof had long-term leaks leaving brown mold stains." Urban development must not undermine cultural heritage. More than 50 historical buildings, including Baguazhou, became an important foundation for Gulangyu's successful inclusion in the World Heritage List in 2017. A good ecology is related to people's well-being. What is the relationship between the economic construction of the special zone and the ecological environment? Comrade Xi Jinping had been pondering this question, stating, "Can we engage in construction in one aspect by destroying another? I believe it is very clear that Xiamen cannot exchange other aspects of development at such a cost." More than 30 years ago, the environmental problems of Yundang Lake gradually became apparent during the rapid urban development. How to manage it became a development challenge for Xiamen. The "Xiamen Development Strategy" proposed concentrating efforts to actively manage Yundang Lake, making the lake clear and transforming it into a beautiful urban scenic area. Latest data from the Ministry of Commerce shows that in the first five months, China's total service trade reached 3.25436 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.7%.
