Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, President of the People's Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, recently emphasized during an inspection tour in Henan that in the new era and on the new journey, Henan must earnestly implement the strategic deployments of the Party Central Committee, including accelerating the rise of the central region and the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin. It should adhere to the general principle of seeking progress while maintaining stability, comprehensively deepen reform and opening up, strive to build a modern industrial system and a strong agricultural province, focus on improving people's livelihoods and strengthening social governance, vigorously strengthen ecological environmental protection, and vigorously promote cultural prosperity. By achieving high-quality development and efficient governance, Henan should make new strides in advancing Chinese modernization in the Central Plains. From May 19 to 20, accompanied by Liu Ning, Secretary of the Henan Provincial Party Committee, and Wang Kai, Governor of Henan Province, Xi Jinping visited Luoyang and Zhengzhou for inspection and research. On the afternoon of May 19, Xi Jinping first visited Luoyang Bearing Group Co., Ltd. The company's predecessor was the Luoyang Bearing Factory, built during the "First Five-Year Plan" period. In the smart factory, Xi Jinping learned about the company's development history, listened to introductions about the uses and performance of different types of bearing products, and observed the production process on the production line. He told the gathered employees that manufacturing is an important pillar of the national economy, and maintaining a reasonable proportion of manufacturing is essential for advancing Chinese modernization. Modern manufacturing cannot do without technological empowerment; vigorous efforts should be made to tackle key technical challenges and pursue a path of independent innovation. He encouraged employees to embrace the spirit of ownership, be proactive, and contribute more to the company's development. Subsequently, Xi Jinping visited White Horse Temple, which was first built during the Eastern Han Dynasty, to learn in detail about the sinicization of Buddhism and the protection of temple relics. He pointed out that White Horse Temple witnessed the process of Buddhism's introduction, development, and continuous sinicization. History proves that adhering to the direction of sinicizing religions in China is entirely correct, and religions should be actively guided to integrate with excellent traditional Chinese culture and adapt to socialist society. The Longmen Grottoes, with a history of over 1,500 years, are an important World Cultural Heritage site. Xi Jinping visited the grottoes, observing their overall layout and representative caves and statues, and cordially interacting with the cultural heritage protection workers on site. He emphasized the importance of protecting, inheriting, and promoting these treasures of Chinese culture. Tourists were delighted to see the General Secretary and greeted him warmly. Xi Jinping frequently interacted with them, particularly encouraging young children to visit historical sites more often to explore Chinese culture and foster cultural confidence from an early age. He pointed out that cultural tourism integration has broad prospects and that the cultural tourism industry should be promoted for high-quality development, truly becoming a pillar industry, a livelihood industry, and a happiness industry. On the morning of May 20, Xi Jinping listened to the work report of the Henan Provincial Party Committee and Government, affirmed the achievements made in various aspects in Henan, and put forward requirements for future work. Xi Jinping pointed out that high-quality development is an inevitable requirement of Chinese modernization. Facing a complex external environment, it is necessary to strengthen confidence, unswervingly manage one's own affairs well, unswervingly expand high-level opening up, focus on stabilizing employment, enterprises, the market, and expectations, and use the certainty of high-quality development to cope with various uncertainties. As a major economic province, Henan should further consolidate the foundation of the real economy, take scientific and technological innovation as the lead, develop new productive forces according to local conditions, and enhance the supporting capacity of the modern industrial system for high-quality development. It is necessary to strengthen the protection and construction of cultivated land, shoulder the responsibility for food security, extend the modern agricultural industry chain, promote comprehensive rural revitalization through integrated urban-rural development, and achieve common prosperity in both urban and rural areas. It is necessary to persistently strengthen ecological protection and governance of key river basins, deepen the battle against pollution, and build a strong ecological security barrier. Xi Jinping emphasized that Henan has a large total population, high population density, and high population mobility, leading to complex and diverse social issues, thus requiring solid efforts to strengthen social governance. It is necessary to fully implement the Party's leadership, improve the social governance system and mechanisms, and strengthen Party building in new economic organizations, new social organizations, and new employment groups. It is necessary to better unite and serve the masses, improve mechanisms for coordinating the interests of the masses, raise the level of public services, and earnestly resolve the urgent, difficult, and eagerly anticipated problems of the masses. It is necessary to prioritize grasping at the grassroots, strengthening the foundation, and consolidating the fundamentals, promoting the downward shift of resources, services, and management, and ensuring that all aspects of social governance reach vertically to the bottom and horizontally to the edges. It is necessary to attach great importance to the construction of rule of law and integrity, give full play to the normative and safeguarding role of the rule of law in social governance, strengthen value guidance on honesty and trustworthiness, and improve the level of government integrity, enterprise integrity, and social integrity. It is necessary to closely monitor the investigation and governance of risks and hidden dangers, strengthen overall social security prevention and control, effectively prevent and resolve risks in key areas, and earnestly maintain social harmony and stability. Leading cadres at all levels should take proactive action, be good at summarizing the laws of the Party's mass work under new circumstances from advancing social governance, and refine and solidify work tailored to the characteristics of different social groups. It is necessary to genuinely address formalism to reduce burdens on grassroots, support grassroots cadres in boldly undertaking tasks and establishing credibility, and support the masses in solving problems in social governance through their own efforts. Xi Jinping pointed out that the CPC Central Committee's eight-point decision on improving Party and government conduct is a measure of the Party Central Committee to set an example, and a landmark measure for governing the Party in the new era. Carrying out in-depth study and education on implementing the spirit of the eight-point decision is a key task of Party building this year. Efforts should be made to integrate learning, investigation, and rectification, closely combine individual investigation and rectification by Party members and cadres with organizational investigation and rectification, genuinely transform strict requirements for work style into concrete measures, and ensure that strict rules become truly effective, ensuring quality in learning, strength in investigation, and effectiveness in rectification. The central guiding group for the study and education should earnestly fulfill its duties and responsibilities, focus its work on promoting problem-solving, and provide precise guidance to achieve practical results. Xi Jinping emphasized that since the beginning of this year, some regions in China have experienced drought, and some are still ongoing. Relevant departments should closely cooperate, strengthen water dispatching, and ensure water supply for urban and rural residents and agricultural irrigation needs. Drought may be followed by floods, so it is necessary to strictly prevent rapid transitions from drought to flood. The flood season has arrived, and all localities must meticulously prepare for flood prevention and control, ensuring adequate plans and calm responses. In areas prone to sudden floods and mudslides and other natural disasters, emergency response responsibilities must be fully implemented. He Lifeng and responsible comrades from relevant departments of the central and state organs accompanied the inspection. Responsible comrades from the Central Second Guiding Group for the in-depth study and education on implementing the spirit of the eight-point decision attended the report meeting.

As the southwest wheat region officially began its harvest, the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River wheat region and the Yellow River-Huai River-Hai River wheat region have also successively entered their harvest periods. During interviews, reporters found that the efficiency of wheat harvesting operations has significantly improved in all wheat regions this year. Data from the National Platform for Precision Agriculture Application Project shows that starting from May 15, the national mechanized wheat harvesting focus has gradually shifted from Sichuan to northern Hubei and southern Henan. Currently, Hubei has harvested 7.503 million mu of wheat, a progress of 47.9%, 2.6 percentage points faster than the same period last year. During interviews in Xiangyang City, a major wheat-producing area in Hubei, reporters found that many agricultural machinery professional cooperatives in Xiangyang have purchased large-feed combine harvesters this year. These harvesters, with a feed rate of 12 kilograms per second, have greatly improved wheat harvesting efficiency. It is understood that this year, 700,000 units (sets) of agricultural machinery equipment are being used for "three summer" production in Hubei, and the proportion of high-horsepower and intelligent agricultural machinery has increased, further reducing wheat machine-harvesting losses. The average effective spikelets per mu of wheat reached 303,300, an increase of 2,800 from the previous year, and the wheat quality is better than in previous years. The improved efficiency of wheat operations is not only due to the promotion and use of high-horsepower agricultural machinery but also benefits from more precise and efficient cross-regional operation services. This year, the wheat harvest period in Nanyang, Henan, was significantly earlier than in previous years. Many cross-regional agricultural machinery operators changed their original harvesting plans and rushed directly to Nanyang. To facilitate cross-regional agricultural machinery operators to start harvesting as soon as possible, Nanyang increased the number of "three summer" service stations to 64. During visits, reporters saw that at the service stations, agricultural machinery operators could not only receive care packages including essential balm and towels but also obtain route recommendations, agricultural machinery maintenance, and fuel supply consultation services. To ensure the orderly conduct of this year's "three summer" operations, Jiangsu organized various localities to survey the situation of emergency agricultural machinery for operations and carried out centralized inspection and maintenance services to ensure that agricultural machinery is in optimal condition for summer harvesting and planting.
