Chongqing is implementing energy-saving and carbon-reduction upgrades in industries such as power, steel, and chemicals, while allocating special funds to support the development of the entire industrial chain of emerging industries like aerospace information. Sichuan's power battery industry is accelerating its rise; in the Yibin Energy Storage Industrial Park, 57 new energy application scenarios and new energy storage projects are under intensive construction. This year, Yibin's new energy storage industry strives to achieve an output value of 10 billion yuan. Expanding new spaces for factor flow with higher-level channel construction. In 2024, the cargo throughput of ports along the main Yangtze River channel exceeded 4 billion tons for the first time, maintaining its position as the world's busiest inland waterway. This year, Ningbo-Zhoushan Port opened a direct sea-river intermodal vessel service to Jingzhou, Hubei, bringing the total number of direct sea-river routes from Ningbo to Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, and other areas to 10; Nanjing Port launched a point-to-point foreign trade express service with Shanghai Port, saving 20 hours per voyage and providing a new fast waterway for cargo exports from inland cities along the river. A modern logistics system, connecting internationally, radiating inland, and serving the Yangtze River, is rapidly forming along the golden waterway of the Yangtze River. Adhering to ecological priority and green development, the entire main stream of the Yangtze River has stably achieved Class II water quality. According to the plan, by 2035, the Yangtze River Economic Belt will be fully built into a golden economic belt with more beautiful ecology, smoother transportation, more coordinated economy, and more scientific mechanisms. The writing brush, as a traditional Chinese writing and painting tool, ranks first among the "Four Treasures of the Study" (writing brush, inkstick, inkstone, and paper). It is not only a practical tool but also a symbol and carrier of Chinese culture, embodying rich cultural connotations. Today (May 12), in "Cultural China Tour," we will learn about the Chinese writing brush, which has been passed down for thousands of years. The earliest existing physical writing brush in China was unearthed in 1954 from a Chu tomb of the Warring States period in Zuo Jiacong, Changsha City, Hunan Province. It is 21 centimeters long. When the brush was unearthed, it was stored in a bamboo brush holder. The handle was made of solid round bamboo, and the brush head was made of rabbit hair bundled around the outside of the handle, then wrapped with hemp thread and fixed with lacquer, with a sharp tip. According to research, by the Tang Dynasty, the brush-making craftsmanship gradually improved, and Xuanzhou in Anhui became the national hometown of brush making. By the Yuan Dynasty, Huzhou in Zhejiang became a new center for brush making, and it has continued to this day. The craftsmanship of Huzhou brushes is complex, requiring 8 major processes and 128 minor procedures, including material selection, water basin treatment, and head shaping, all of which must be done by hand. "From a myriad of hairs, select one. Though the hair is light, the effort is profound." In learning the craft of Huzhou brush making, each process requires at least three years of study to initially master the techniques, and even longer to become proficient. Writing brushes are generally divided into goat hair brushes, weasel hair brushes, and rabbit hair (purple hair) brushes. Brush makers combine the advantages of various hair materials to create mixed-hair brushes. Among them, goat hair brushes are characterized by their delicate strokes and varied ink tones, rabbit hair brushes have the strongest force, while mixed-hair brushes combine various styles. The writing brush has not only recorded thousands of years of Chinese history and civilization, but its unique brushstrokes and linear aesthetic have also promoted the development of Chinese calligraphy, painting, and other arts. A writing brush embodies the craftsmanship and cultural sentiment of generations of brush makers over thousands of years. In Shanlian Town, Huzhou, the birthplace of Huzhou brushes, every household makes brushes, passing down the skill from generation to generation, with a history of nearly 2000 years.
