Recently, Chinese scientists published the first scientific research results from the Chang'e-6 lunar samples. This scientific achievement, utilizing the precious lunar samples obtained from China's Chang'e-6 lunar exploration mission, for the first time in the world revealed the basic characteristics of material from the far side of the Moon. Previously, humanity had collected lunar samples 10 times, including our Chang'e-5 samples, all from the near side of the Moon. The Chang'e-6 sampling site is located in the South Pole-Aitken Basin on the far side of the Moon, an area that is the Moon's oldest and deepest impact basin, holding significant importance for studying the Moon's formation and evolution history and its internal material composition. Preliminary studies show that compared to the Chang'e-5 samples, the Chang'e-6 lunar samples are slightly lighter gray in color, less dense, looser, and have a more complex source of particles. Furthermore, they contain a richer variety of minerals, and the basalts recording volcanic activity rarely contain olivine, indicating significant differences in their rock genesis compared to the Chang'e-5 samples. The relevant research findings provide important support for humanity's exploration of lunar mysteries.
